Who Is Responsible
Valdoria is an independent game. The controller responsible for your data is the Valdoria team. For anything about your data, write to hello@valdoriaonline.com from the email address on your account.
What We Store
- Your account. Your account name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash: nobody can read it) and sign-up date.
- Your game data. Your characters and their progress: level, experience, gold, gear, bag, bank, quests, talents, key bindings, guild, friends and in-game mail.
- What's public. Your community profile (your characters and the gear they wear, never your bag, bank, gold or account details), your forum posts, the leaderboard and, in Hardcore Mode, the Hall of the Fallen.
- Purchases. Purchases made on the website are charged by Stripe on its own page: we only receive the payment confirmation, the race and your account name, and we store the date, amount and status of each purchase. We never see or store your card details.
- Steam. If you play through Steam or link your account to Steam: your Steam identifier (SteamID), your Steam name, which Valdoria downloadable content you own and your link history, with a hash of your IP address (not the full address). We don't request your friends list or any other data from your Steam profile.
- Security and moderation. The IP address of each request, to limit attempts and stop abuse, and the server logs (logins, logouts and moderation actions). If someone reports a player, we keep the last lines of that player's chat that the person reporting received.
- In your browser. Your session for My Account and the community (in the tab's storage, or in the browser's if you choose to stay logged in) and whether you've closed the language notice. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. On the pages with forms (My Account and the community), Google reCAPTCHA may store a technical security cookie.
What We Use It For
- So you can play: logging in, saving your progress and using the website, the forum and the store (this is what you ask us for when you create your account).
- To protect the game and its players: attempt limits, chat and forum moderation, and cheat prevention (our legitimate interest).
- To comply with the law: keeping purchase records for as long as tax regulations require.
- To email you only about your account: recovering your password, confirming a purchase or letting you know about a link with Steam. Never advertising.
Who We Share It With
- Stripe, which charges purchases made on the website under its own terms.
- Valve (Steam), only if you play through Steam: we ask it which Valdoria content you own.
- Our server provider in Europe, where the game and the website are hosted, and Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) to send emails.
- Google Fonts: the website loads its fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when they load.
- Google reCAPTCHA: when you log in on the website, ask to recover your password or write in the forum, the page checks with Google reCAPTCHA that you are not an automated program. Google receives your IP address and data about your browser and how you use the page, and its privacy policy applies.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
How Long We Keep It
For as long as your account exists. If you delete it, your account and your characters are deleted, and your name disappears from the community, the leaderboard and the Hall of the Fallen; we only keep the purchase records that the law requires us to retain. Security logs are deleted automatically over time.
Your Rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, have it deleted (including your entire account) or ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose. Write to hello@valdoriaonline.com from the email address on your account and we'll reply within one month. You can change your email and password yourself in My Account. If you disagree with our response, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, aepd.es).
Minors
If you're under 14, you need permission from your parents or guardians to create an account.
Changes
If anything important changes, we'll announce it on the home page before it takes effect.
